Leeta, a Bajoran Dabo Girl, has been a resident on Deep Space Nine since late 2371, when Quark employed her to run the Dabo tables. She first appeared as a dingy Dabo girl flirting with Doctor Bashir; "I have a little cough, ahem." (Explorers). Leeta was inhabited by the memory of Emony, one of Dax’s previous hosts during the Trill Rite of Closure (Facets). An intelligent, charming, and attractive young woman, Leeta has shown that she’s not just a pretty face and a skilled Dabo table operator. She is also an amateur sociologist who, in 2372, helped Quark’s Bar employees form The Guild of Restaurant and Casino Employees, the first trade union in Ferengi history in 2372 (Bar Association). As an amateur sociologist, Leeta has been educated in the customs and cultures of several species; the Trill, Terrans, and Ferengi, as well as her own species, Bajoran. She has become a good friend of Lieutenant Commander Jadzia Dax, and was romantically involved with Doctor Julian Bashir until 2373, when they broke up while on Risa with Dax and Lieutenant Commander Worf (Let He Who is Without Sin …). She later discovered she and Rom, Quark’s brother and an engineering technician on the station, had a mutual attraction for each other, and in fact, were in love. Doctor Zimmerman becomes infatuated with her and Rom struggles to tell her of his true feelings (Doctor Bashir, I Presume?) Rom made the mistake of asking Leeta to sign a prenuptual agreement, and almost lost her. "He’s a Ferengi, and I’m not" (Ferengi Love Songs). Leeta and Rom were married in a traditional Bajoran ceremony, performed by Captain Sisko, the Emissary, immediately before the evacuation of all Bajoran personnel from Deep Space Nine, as a result of the Dominion War (In the Cards). She left for a short period, but soon returned to Deep Space Nine with the rest of the Bajorans. Leeta helped Quark learn to walk like a female to help Zek regain his title of Grand Nagus (Profit and Lace). Rom and Leeta appear to be living "Happily Ever After".

Chase Masterson, born on 26 February 1963, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, stands 5’7", and has reddish brown hair. She began acting at the age of five, in te well-known musical, Oklahoma! She says, "Acting is really all I’ve done or wanted to do since then." She enjoys her profession, but she knows what it really is, and is not egotistical about it. "Acting is such a powerful profession, and a humbling one at the same time. To think we are the people who get to help the world laugh and cry and feel, and to reflect and relax, is incredible. That puts all the glitz and the external side of the business in a highly secondary place." She claims to be a lifelong Star Trek fan. "I really liked the original series - I loved Nichelle Nichols and Majel Barrett. I even aspired to be the green Orion girl from a very early age." Chase Masterson, like Star Trek: Voyager’s Jeri Ryan, was an Army brat. She spent eight years as a professional Ballet, Jazz, Modern, and Tap dancer. Chase was, at one time, a member of the Groundlings, a renowned improvisational troupe. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of Texas. Her filmography is extensive. Some of the highlights include Avatar Exile (1999) as Dash Mackenzie, Trekkies; a Star Trek fan documentary (1999) as herself, Free Enterprise (1998); a Star Trek spoof feature film also starring William Shatner, Digital Man (1995) as Susie, Robin Hood; Men in Tights (1993) as the Giggling Court Lady; In a Moment of Passion; Introducing Chase Masterson (1993), Suspect Device (1993), and Married People, Single Sex (1993) as Beth. Chase’s television appearances include her anchor of the science fiction news magazine, Sci Fi Entertainment (1998); Sliders (1995) as Kelly Welles in the episode, Season's Greedings; ER (1994) as Molly Phillip's mom in the episode, Hell and High Water; Live Shot (1995) as Sheila Rydell in the episode, T.G.I.F; General Hospital as Ivy Leif (1993). Last and absolutely not least, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (beginning in 1993) as Leeta, a young Bajoran "Dabo Girl" in Quark’s Bar, who marries Rom, Quark's brother. Chase’s theatrical acting credits are also extensive and impressive: Murderers Anonymous, Agnes of God, Cabaret, The Boyfriend, Split, Sorry!, Apostrophe 68, The Balcony Scene, Anything Goes, Pygmalion, A Chorus Line, The Fantasticks, and Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Chase Masterson is a busy and talented lady; not only has she been a professional dancer, and an actress on stage and screen (large and small); she is also a producer. Her credits in that area include Manboy; The Series, an offbeat animated series; and Cannes, her look at the legendary Cannes Film Festival.
